What appliance rebates or discounts are available in Victoria?
The Victorian Energy Upgrades program offers rebates and discounts for fridges, freezers, clothes dryers, in-home displays and TVs.
Victorian Energy Upgrades is available to every Victorian household and business. The upgrade has to be provided by an accredited provider who are registered to sell Victorian Energy Upgrade products. Every upgrade allows businesses accredited under the program called Accredited Providers to generate Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs). Each certificate represents one tonne of greenhouse gas that has been prevented from entering our atmosphere. Accredited providers offer discounted prices for products as they are able to then sell VEECs to energy retailers. The amount of rebate an Accredited Provider gives to its customers for participating in Victorian Energy Upgrades can vary.
